SHARES

We just wanted to remind you that after mid-June 2015, Rooms on Windows Phone will no longer be supported. You’ll still be able to get to your calendars, photos and notes, but you won’t be able to create new rooms or send and receive new chats. You should save anything from your chats now that you don’t want to lose.

Windows Phone support for Rooms ending from June 2015

An alternative solution that you could consider as rooms end of support nears is GroupMe. You can use GroupMe to keep in touch with groups of people who matter to you, and it has similar features to rooms, like group chats with shared photos and location. GroupMe is available to download today.

The changes to rooms will differ depending on which version of Windows Phone you are using.

Getting to your content from rooms will work differently after mid-June 2015.

In Windows Phone 8 and 8.1

After support for rooms ends in mid-June 2015, you’ll still see your existing rooms on your Windows Phone 8 or 8.1. You’ll be able to view and use your room photos, calendars and notes on your phone. But you won’t be able to create new rooms or make membership or permissions changes to existing rooms. Additionally, you and other room members won’t be able to send any new room chat messages or create any new calendar events.

In Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview

Once you update to Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, rooms will no longer show up on your phone. You’ll still be able to get to your photos, calendars and notes, either on the web or by using other apps on your phone. You won’t be able to see your chat history or send and receive new chats, or create any new calendar events.

Note: If you have important info in your room chats that you want to keep, you should save a copy somewhere else before updating your phone.

To see room content using apps on your phone:

  • Photos – You’ll find your photos and videos in the OneDrive app in a folder with the same name as the room.
  • Calendar – Go to the Calendar app to see your room calendar.
  • Notes – Your room notes are in the OneNote app, in a notebook with the same name as the room.

To see room content on the web:

Sign in to www.Outlook.com with the same Microsoft account you use on your phone. You’ll find your content there, in folders with the same name as your room.
Or just use these direct links to get to your:

  • Photos
  • Calendar
  • Notes

You can continue to see everything from rooms (except for chats) on Outlook.com, in the Outlook app and on windowsphone.com.

For more info, take a look at the Rooms FAQ.

SHARES

Windows 10 to be launched in few months with Nine versions. As we know Satya Nadella is talking about One universal platform means he wants windows 10 to be on all devices either it is mobile, tablet or PC.

So there are nine versions of windows 10 are coming to just one less than 10.

Versions of Consumer Editions:

Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 10 Mobile. Home and Pro are editions you’ll be able to purchase. Windows 10 Mobile will come pre-installed on devices like smartphones and smaller tablets (presumably 8 inches or less).

For schools there is another version called, Windows 10 Education, while big businesses will also have the option of Windows 10 Enterprise. They’ll also be getting a special Enterprise edition of Windows 10 Mobile, which will add Windows Pro-like management and security features to the standard Windows 10 Mobile package.

The other three are made for embedded devices, including table Raspberry Pi 2 and Intel Galileo. Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet says Microsoft will offer embedded versions of Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile commerce, and there is also a special version for the Internet of things gadgets, too.

At this time, there are many inexpensive Windows devices running Windows 8.1 with Bing. Microsoft today released the ticket blog makes no mention of Windows 10 Bing, and that could mean a number of things.

Microsoft could be abandoned in favor of another version for devices like the little HP Stream office. They may also have chosen not to talk about it because there is an asterisk next Windows Home. Anyway, you will find only preinstalled on the sale of devices anyway.

You have to decide between Windows 10 Start, Pro and Windows 10 Bing if you are looking for a copy.
